Talking With Angels

We all have guardian angels who communicate with us in our thoughts or dreams. When we are scared or anxious, it’s good to talk to our guardian and ask for their help. They will often send confirmation that they have heard these prayers with a sign or a synchronicity. And sometimes they can just show up when they are needed, even when we haven’t openly asked them to.

Rolf is a retired Coastguard Officer who told me he wasn’t sure he believed in angels, until one extraordinary night. His wife was fighting cancer in a hospice and he was allowed to stay with her overnight, in a bed next to hers. He felt desperate and helpless. One evening he awoke to see, undeniably, two angels standing over her. They were very big and “looked like warriors”. He rubbed his eyes thinking he was seeing things.

“Please don’t take her now,” he said aloud, turning his head to the wall so he didn’t see her go. But when he turned back, there was now one angel at her side with the other one standing right next to Rolf himself as he drifted back to sleep.

The next morning his wife said she would like to go out for a while, so he took her to a favourite place near their home where she smiled with happiness as he pushed her wheelchair around. She adored nature and her face lit up, seeing the trees, butterflies and flowers and listening to the birdsong.

Rolf realised that the pain that had distorted her face for so long had disappeared. And that evening, for the first time, she said she didn’t need any morphine as she couldn’t feel any pain. She passed away peacefully in her sleep that night.

A simple quiet prayer can be all that is needed to draw in the angels’ loving and protective energy. Carmen’s mother, her best friend, had passed away when Carmen was a teenager, and she still felt totally bereft and fearful. She told me that she’d gone into meltdown, not knowing how to deal with her feelings or where to turn. To make things worse, her father met another woman who treated Carmen badly, and she’d turned to drink.

When her father also passed away, Carmen went completely ‘off the rails’. Her mental health was suffering badly and she started hearing a voice in her head, telling her she would never amount to anything. She thought she was going mad. Even when she’d got herself off the alcohol and married a loving partner, she still heard that negative voice.

The angels were just waiting for an invitation to step in… When she started following my Facebook page, Discover the Angels, everything began to change, she told me. She started praying to the angels and sharing her pain with them, something she had never been able to do with anyone on Earth. The negative voice stopped almost immediately, she became happy in her own skin and has since built up a successful business.

Sue told me about what had happened when she lived in the Channel Islands. A group of her friends had travelled on a yacht to the Caribbean where, on one of the islands, they’d seen a breathtaking, cascading waterfall.

“Our friend Drewy stood in front of the waterfall,” she said, “as his wife Vanessa took a photograph.” And when they looked at the photo later, there was a beautiful rainbow over his head, even though they hadn’t seen one at the time. Vanessa believed in angels and felt this was some kind of sign from them.

A year later, Drewy and a few other male friends took a boat over to Carteret (on Guernsey) for a visit and to have lunch. Coming back in the dark, they negotiated the stone steps down a steep hill to reach their boat, moored at the bottom. But Drewy missed his footing, he fell and tragically broke his neck and died instantly.

Vanessa then told me that only the day before the men went on that trip, she had put the waterfall picture on their mantelpiece in a lovely frame. Then, on the day of Drewy’s funeral in St. Peter Port, a rainbow appeared over the town, giving her great comfort.

Mafalda also shared a story of not one but two extraordinary synchronicities, about when she was feeling very lost and confused a few years ago. She asked the angels for divine guidance on whether her true life path was to become a nun or to have a family.

“I asked the question in my meditation class,” she said, “and then within a few moments of starting to walk home I saw a large white feather at my feet. This place was high up on a mountain, not a place where gulls would hang out and there were no other birds flying around. I took the feather as a sign that the angels had heard my question.

“That evening, I went out to have dinner with my parents. As I was sitting down to eat, a little girl no more than two years-old just ran away from her mother and came to sit on my lap, talking and smiling at me all the time. Her energy was infectious and I knew there and then that she had been drawn to me for a reason – and that my answer from the Divine was that I would have a family and give birth to a little girl.

“Four years on now and I am happily married. Last year, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl whom we named Lily. I still have the feather I found and I keep it as a reminder that the angels are always around us.”
