The Book
Divine Mysteries is a collection from the deeply mystical works of John Todd Ferrier, revelations, providing a profound, universal vision, and the application in our individual lives.They lead us into a deeper understanding of ourselves, the world and even the same Divine Energy that flows from the Heart of the Universe, through every Star and planet, into the natural world and the heart of every soul.

The Title
The Mysteries of God are Love, Life and Light.
A mystery is something that is out of sight but with some effort, and subsequent joy, may be discovered. The mysteries are within, discovered through an intuitive understanding of them in a moment of insight or time of meditation. The wonders of the universe seem greater than ever with concepts such as black holes, dark matter, quantum physics… The more we discover, the greater the mysteries become, as with the Spiritual Mysteries within ourselves. Divine mysteries deepen the more we discover.
The Mystic Author
In the book ‘Divine Mysteries: Love Life Light’ John Todd Ferrier conveys his inner vision, seeing the sacredness of all Life as the basis for living in peace and harmony with creation.
In 1904 he founded the informal fellowship, ‘The Order of the Cross’. The name refers to the Eternal Cross, the Balance of Love and Wisdom at the Heart of the Universe and every soul – a symbol common to the ancient religions of Egypt, India, and many others. It is the essence of the mandala and represents the creative flow of energy from the God Centre. From our connection to that radiant Centre within us (where the Mystery dwells) comes an outpouring of our love to all we meet on life’s path.
The path of ancient wisdom is to ‘Know Thyself’, as the Delphic oracle says. We are made of ‘star stuff’, a replica of the universe in microcosm.He taught that the life of love was the true spiritual life and therefore we must incorporate that love in every part of our lives and eventually come to love everyone.
Love, Life and Light
What is it that we all desire in our life? Surely it is love? The love of a parent, of a partner, of a friend and we long to share our love giving to all those around us. As has often been quoted: “All you need is love”. We show love in our consideration, our kindness, our sympathy with those who are struggling in life and with direct help to those in need.
Recent surveys find that the greatest pleasure we have is in helping one another. It is Divine Love flowing through us in our giving.
“Love makes the whole being beautiful. Yes, even human love. You cannot love truly without becoming more beautiful. You cannot love in the sphere of the angels without becoming like them. We can have fellowship with the angels if we are angelic in our love to each other.” – DM p265.
“Love is self-creating, the more you love the more you love. Love is God in you.” – DM p288.
As the Divine love flows into us and through our life, we radiate the Light, the radiance of love. The Sun brings light and warmth to give life. The source is the power of Love at its heart.

The source of our power is also Love that flows through us to lighten the path of another, to radiate joy. If we make mistakes, though our intentions are good, we learn and attain wisdom.
The essential message of love is the same in all true spiritual teachings, from Taoism, in the love for nature, Hinduism, in love for God, Buddhism, in Love of compassion and kindness and through the purifying of the mind and heart from delusions, and in Christianity the teaching is ‘to love one’s neighbour as oneself’ and that ’God is love’.
How wonderful it would be if everyone could follow these high aspirations. The world would soon come back into balance, violence and greed would disappear, people would radiate joy, just as the flowers do.
Meditation
Then there is the inner path to the Divine Love, the Source of our being. Meditation can include walking in nature, appreciating a beautiful landscape, a magnificent sunset, a creative activity, or simply gardening. In such circumstances we can ascend in consciousness and receive guidance, spiritual vision, and soul healing. We see more deeply into the reality of things, become more aware of the great beauty of the sunset, the flower, the landscape. As we appreciate the beauty of the flower, in form and colour and scent, or the tree in the majesty of its growth and energy, we are fed by the beautiful energies manifested there, and in the degree that we are able to perceive them. It can even take us into the angelic realms to become aware of our guardian angel, or the Divine Presence within us at the heart of the soul. What profound states of consciousness we can come to by this simple practice given patience and perseverance.
A Message of Love and Light
Having followed the teachings of John Todd Ferrier for many years now, reading his wonderfully lucid and poetic prose, lifts me into beautiful states of consciousness, a feeling of oneness with the Spiritual Realms. It inspires me to be more loving in my life, to be more caring and compassionate and although often failing in various ways, it always gives me hope to be able to rectify mistakes and to live more beautifully. Though the way seems difficult at times and progress rather slow, looking back over the years, some gradual but clear progress has been made.
We cannot give what we have not received. We receive inspiration and help in our meditation, and then are able to give in helping others and also ourselves.
May you feel inspired to follow your heart and the love within it, wherever your path leads you.
