Sometimes the Collective Needs to Take a Back Seat

What is ‘the Collective’?’

The ‘Collective Consciousness’ is the concept or belief that all life is connected. It has been proved by physics that we are all linked at the atomic level in terms of energy and vibration. In the most condensed of terms that connection can be felt physically, emotionally, or energetically.

For example, a group of people in one country experiencing a natural disaster will pour their feelings and experience into the ‘Collective Consciousness’. It may be felt by someone on the other side of the world who is not experiencing the same conditions. Impacting their day-to-day experience with feelings of dread, fear and more without obvious reason.

The terms ‘Collective Human Consciousness’, ’Connection to All, ‘Hive Mind’ or even ‘Web of All Life’ are a bit of a mouthful so I have shortened it to ‘Collective’ to make things easier – for me, the ‘Collective’ is the connective energy of all humans.

What does it feel like?

As I’ve mentioned, this Collective changes constantly depending on how each person feels; their feelings, experiences, work adds to the ‘Collective’.  Many of us can feel its impact. And when things are a tad out of control (as happens frequently) it can feel as if you are on a rollercoaster. It can all feel a bit too much.

You may have unexplained or irrational feelings of overwhelm, sadness, grief, rage which will mainly be shadow energies and feelings – we pick them up first as they are looking to be transmuted/released. They can shout the loudest.

I sense the Collective as static or white noise on an untuned radio. I also have a sense of knowing when it’s all kicking off. Others may find it very noisy or see it a specific colour – it all depends on the person but once you know what it looks like to you, it will always be visible.

It is possible to turn it on or off, or to ‘mute’ it for a while.

What is Collective energy work?

A lot of energy workers who have agreed or chosen to work with/on behalf of the Collective do some very deep and powerful work, helping to remove stagnant, stuck or out of date energies, beliefs, thought processes etc from the Collective. Fully dissolving and transmuting them helps to lighten the vibration and reduce the density from it.

Most, if not all, of these individuals won’t talk about what they are doing or have been asked to help with.  They prefer to simply do the work and carry on. There is no looking for accolades, limelight, or praise – the important part is the work gets done.

It’s unlikely these energy workers will hold global meditations or workshops to teach you how to do what they do. Depending on what they are helping with sometimes it’s safer not to share.  A little bit of knowledge can do a lot of harm in the hands of the well-intentioned but uneducated or misinformed. Not having the right experience or skill (yet) to wield it can lead to mistakes along the way.

We’re not painting a target on someone else’s back.

Work done in stealth mode, stays in stealth mode.

Collective work can lead to ‘burn out’ if you’re not careful. Boundaries are important – as they are for all forms of energy work. If you allow yourself to work in this area, with no boundaries, it can become all-consuming. You can lose yourself along the way.

Be very clear on what you are prepared to help with, and where you draw a line in the sand. For example, I refuse to do any form of work when I’m sleeping given the volume I do when I’m awake.

What do you recommend?

Understanding when something belongs to you or someone else or the Collective is a great place to start. We live in turbulent times and our feelings can change from minute by minute. I recommend, when something doesn’t make sense to ask yourself;

Is it mine?

Is it someone else’s?

Is it Collective?

You will know at a gut level where it sits. If yours it’s time to dig in and look at what’s come up for you and do what is necessary. If someone else’s it may be time to ‘dissolve it out’ and no longer carry it. When it’s Collective you have a choice.

If you are here to do that work, you can do it yourself or, delegate it out to your Higher Self to resolve.

Or, you can say no. Just because you can, doesn’t mean that you should. Saying no is a powerful response. It draws a clear boundary. Know that someone else will step up if you can’t right now.  There is no rule that you must do Collective work if you don’t wish to. That is an outdated sacrificial/martyr way of thinking and not one that is required today.

You can instead pass it to Source/God/Goddess/whatever you happen to believe in, and ask they do what is needed on your behalf.

Acknowledging what you observe or feel may be enough to move it on – for your own work as well.  It may be that observing what the Collective is doing and seeing it play out is your role right now. As a witness.

Stepping back does work

If it all gets just a bit overwhelming, you can step it back for a bit. I routinely (at least) twice a year say to my team/Higher Self that I’m taking 2-3 weeks away from Collective work to concentrate on my own work or to rest.  I get relative peace from that Collective influence and my team always honour the request. They put the Collective ‘stuff’ in the back seat with the mute button on so I can drive for a bit.

It’s not permanent, Collective work is part of what I’m here to help with, and I’m happy to do so but not at the expense of my reserves, energy or sanity.

Stepping back, or stepping the work back, is part of my self-care.

Do your own work first

The beauty of the Collective (that sometimes gets overlooked) is the work you do for yourself, you do for the Collective by extension.

Whatever you are clearing, releasing, dissolving, healing etc for yourself and/or your family line ripples outwards in every direction. Even if you’re not aware of it. Those ripples are very, very far reaching – more so than any of us know.

Put yourself first, do your work, rest when you need to and don’t feel guilty for not doing more for the Collective. You’re already doing plenty by taking responsibility for yourself, and your energy.

You and your personal work are enough.
