Hope

Is Hope just A Fairy Tale – the last-resort of the hopeless?

Are we – humanity, already beyond redemption, destined to remain lost and burdened?

Is Hope part of our birthright, our Divinity Within, – our catalyst to deliverance?

The definition of Hope as it reads in my dictionary, is ‘a feeling of desire and expectation for a particular thing to happen’. The desire of course being the ‘want’ and the expectation, being the act or state of ‘looking forward/ anticipating’.

Hope is like a wish, a far-off dream to be reached/fulfilled, right? But the Bible refers to Hope as not only an ‘expectation’, but also a ‘future certainty’. So, which is true? Is Hope purely a desire, a feeling, or can Hope really deliver a tangible, certain outcome?

Some might say, given the state of the world today (and let’s face it, the cards do seem unfairly stacked against ‘Joe public’), that hope is all but faded. I strongly disagree. I think hope defies all logic. It is all the above, and so much more. It is the Divine Trinity in action.

I do believe in God/The One Source. I was raised a catholic and in my later years began to study Buddhism, Taoism, – I read all sorts, searching. I am a proud member of the ‘woo-woo’ brigade, not new age at all, in fact, very old practices, and philosophies. And, as modern life seems to be making so many people desperately unhappy, more people are searching for a simpler, less toxic, more fulfilling life experience, as was I. Searching for that part of self that feels empty, lost. In doing so, many are looking to ancient wisdoms and teachings for truth, for clarity, and harmony.

You see, we are souls living a human experience. We are the microcosm in the macrocosm (Plato, Pythagoras), humans/human nature being the small order/universe, and the cosmos, as the great order/universe. We are all part of a living, breathing, interacting whole. A Life-Force governed by universal laws – ‘objective truth’- what the universe holds true. This theory suggests that the microcosm (human) can be understood by studying the macrocosm (universe), and vice versa, with structural similarities being recognised and present in both. Separate yet One.

Hope is not only an emotional feeling, but also a mindset. Eminent psychologist Carl Jung believed that Hope is born amid chaos and despair, and not in moments of uncritical optimism. He spoke of the ‘Nigredo’ stage, a period of darkness, of breakdown, which is a necessary precursor to transformation and hope. He also said, “The world will ask you who you are and if you do not know, the world will tell you”.

Carl Jung also said that “life is a complex and symbolic experience akin to a dream”. He said; “until the unconscious is made conscious, it will continue to direct your life, and you will call it fate”. And yes, it will be a dark fate, at that. Only by the acknowledgment and integration of the unconscious into conscious matter, which is indeed essential to achieving a balanced and whole personality (the mind, body and spirit, -the Trinity) could you then begin to direct your life, be the creator of your existence, with the awareness that “I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become”, or my personal favourite, “There is no fate, but what we make for ourselves.” (Mr James Cameron).

Whether we draw on teachings from biblical scripture, ‘created in the image of God, man is likewise a Trinity. He has a spiritual nature that is separate and distinct from the body in which it abides. We are God’s reflection here on Earth, (micro-macro – one and the same), each with our own mission to achieve as well.

After all these years, it seems Mr. David Icke was not so ‘way out there’ when he claimed to be God.

Eastern Philosophies like Buddhism, teach us to recognise the truth of oneself and all that is: the theory being that through one’s suffering, one’s karmic lessons, we can reach Nirvana/enlightenment. This achievement can then, after due process, liberate oneself from the cycle of suffering and rebirth and reshape our future incarnations.

Whichever theory you lean toward, once you see the similarities between the Socratic scholars/sciences, the Big-Man-Upstairs, the Zen Masters or a mishmash of all, I promise you will never be able to unsee it.  Once your awareness is triggered, you will sink into the ‘sewer of your depths’, a truly tough road to walk. Be assured, you have all the tools required to succeed, there is nothing you cannot handle.

The fear is palpable on the streets right now; most people are unhappy and sense there is something ‘changing’ without being able to pinpoint the reason why. Emotional, financial and health issues are being carried around like heavy burdens. We don’t quite seem to relate to our inherent abundance, authenticity and the universal laws and principles. They seem to be blocked, or clouded by fear, anxiety and worry. Our trust in the Universal Source is diminishing, severely affecting the Collective in a downward spiral that only The Divine can stop; probably by tearing our playhouses down around us and reminding us of who has the power.

So, what’s to be done? How can we turn things round and live joyous, peaceful, carefree, happy lives? Your biggest asset of course, is you! You, me and every single one of us.

We are the hopes and dreams, the juicy fruit on the tree of life.  So, be brave and take the first step, it’s always the hardest step but from there, it is a doddle. Mix a little bit of faith and trust together with hope and step onto that spiritual path. Nurture yourself and the trees grow – honest! Connect with the people your intuition guides you to mix in joyous circles, be mindful of the company you keep, gently and with love leave those people who no longer serve you behind, be in service to others and spiritual awareness will blossom into your life. All the submerged gifts and talents that lay hidden will emerge in divine timing as your perception changes. You will begin to see signs that will help or remind you. Trust the process.

For me, a rainbow is always a reminder to get some chakra meditation done.   It reminds me to ‘harness-one’s-personal-energies’, to ‘hold-one’s-powerful equilibrium’, and to ‘honour-one’s personal experience’ using discipline and patience, working simultaneously with the mind, body and spirit.

Soon, your energies and perceptions will shift.  Amazing things align for you, seemingly effortlessly. The impossible becomes I’m possible! Never abandon your hopes and dreams, or allow yourself to be limited, in any way. God/Source gave you this experience to live this life, at this time as well as the power and the free-will, to do with as you would wish.

For those that decide to walk forward, please choose love, and for those who may choose to stay-put, best of luck, for next time around.

May you know Love,

May you be the Light,

and may you live in Peace.
