The writer and journalist Graham Hancock stated a few years ago that when he looks at the pyramids of Egypt, he feels we are missing a chapter in history, so strange and remarkable is their design and appearance. He isn’t wrong. Although the planet is littered with ancient pyramids and other monuments from prehistory, the structures at Giza are surely among the most famous and astonishing. Together with the Sphinx, they represent compelling and intriguing evidence that we know far less about mankind’s origins than we like to admit.
We learn from the Ageless Wisdom teachings and Benjamin Creme (who had a constant telepathic rapport with a Master of Wisdom) that Egypt, the most mysterious and beloved of ancient civilisations, was descended from Atlantis itself. This explains how such a fantastic and advanced culture came to exist, thousands of years ago. Atlantis, the famed Golden Age that echoes in the collective unconscious, was an incredibly high culture presided over by the Masters of the time; it covered much of the globe and endured for millions of years. Eventually, however, it succumbed to greed and deep materialism, much as we have again in modern times. The result was a great conflict between the Forces of Light and Darkness that culminated in the Fall of Atlantis – the Great Flood, almost one hundred thousand years ago. A huge piece of the Atlantean continent fell into the sea, into the Atlantic, of course. That Golden Age ended, and the Masters retreated to the mountains and deserts.
Nonetheless, a few major island remnants survived, among them Poseidonis, which lasted until around 10,000BC when it finally ‘went down with a crash’, according to the Masters. Today we know the remains of Poseidonis as the Azores. Indeed when Plato described Atlantis as an island lying ‘beyond the Pillars of Hercules’ (the Straits of Gibraltar) it was surely Poseidonis to which he actually referred. Perhaps anticipating their fate, however, many inhabitants of Poseidonis set sail to what we now call Egypt and colonised that land, founding Ancient Egypt in the process. So the pyramids are thousands of years older than modern science would have us believe, and the Egyptian civilisation was a diminished but nonetheless impressive descendant of the Atlantis of old. For the Atlanteans were pyramid-builders too.
The pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx are far more than extraordinary, other-worldly constructions – they are three-dimensional physical evidence of our long-forgotten ancestry and true, noble origins, a spiritual lineage that extends back some twenty million years into antiquity, into mythology itself. Soon, as we venture further into this Age of Aquarius, the Era of Light, the truth of that ancestry shall emerge. Even as we endeavour to create a new civilisation even more advanced than Atlantis, the ancient secrets and mysteries will be revealed. Benjamin Creme stated that most people today remain essentially Atlantean by nature, and these reincarnated souls of old will help build the new world, leaving the destruction of materialism behind forever in pursuit of a new Heaven on Earth.
