Hormones play our lives like instruments.
- Lindsey Berkson (hormone revolution)
Walking along the bank of the river, my friends were chatting or should I say bemoaning the menopause and its symptoms. They both looked at me and asked
“How did you cope Krystyna?”
“What menopause?” I replied.
No amount of medicine and herbs has seemingly been able to help these poor souls.
There is no getting beyond this, hormones control so many aspects of our lives on a daily basis. And hormones don’t follow rules. How to balance and work with those hormones have been a much-researched area, and the work goes on. What the medical world does not seem to take into consideration is all the other factors of an individual woman’s life, her diet, her environment, her relationships, and her genetic and mental programming inherited from many generations. Almost every health condition a woman faces has hormonal issues attached to it. The good news is, you can influence your hormones to improve your health and happiness using energy and emotional healing techniques.
From an early age girls are told:-
- The period is a curse.
- Childbirth is painful and dreadful.
- The menopause marks the end of life as a woman.
I myself suffered with bad periods and was told the contraceptive pill would solve the problem. I then had problems conceiving. The quite traumatic births of the first of my two sons culminated in being rushed into hospital with postpartum endometritis. This led to deep depression which eventually led into M.E.
Looking back, I so wish I could have given the younger me the wisdom I finally found which helped me sail through my menopause. All that information that links our health to the environment, our diets and our belief systems that had helped me understand my own body. I chose not to suffer the way both my mother and sister had; in fact, they were probably my greatest inspiration. So many women I encounter in my clinic are riddled with fears; being ‘on the shelf’, ‘no longer of any use’ etc. I share a wonderful statement with them, it was a game changer for me.
You cannot become the wise women till you finish shedding the seed of knowledge.
How different could it be for thousands of women if these stories could be released and turned in to a concept of power? Where has all this arisen from? I was shocked when I did some of my research – stories of women being considered ‘unclean’ after a birth or even during their menstrual time because of religion, control, or fear of the power of the feminine energy? I make no judgement.
The fact is our bodies are divine temples of feminine energy which, when honoured, can heal on very profound levels. The period/menstrual cycle is a beautiful way of saying this womb lining is not fresh and ready for a new life to come into. It needs to shed its lining and become a beautiful new place to welcome life into.
I encourage ladies with fertility problems to meditate on creating each month a beautiful new ‘nest’ filled with all the gifts, love and joy to welcome a new-born into. I acknowledge that for many, labour can be a very painful experience. I so wish I had known all I have since learnt during my birthing experiences, they would have been so less traumatic and more empowering both for myself and for my children. I highly recommend the book Heal your Birth, Heal your Life by Sharon King.
I had been lucky enough to come across Donna Eden and her Energy Medicine for Women and had also been introduced to the wonderful healing modalities I now use on my clients. Many therapies available to help women (and men) release their epigenetic patterns and create a personal, new pattern for their health – metaphysical anatomy, kinesiology, and some special massage techniques to name a few.
My workshops help women change their old programming/beliefs around the natural cycle of fertility. Our bodies are a miracle, constantly in the cycle of change and more than able to heal themselves – it is just that we are not taught these gifts. We are often brain-washed into believing we have no control over these processes, but we so do.
The first and most empowering step to healing is to accept yourself more as a beautiful energy, designed by nature and remember that this cycle is the natural rhythm of your body – that is the first and most empowering step.
