True Acceptance

The first stage of solving any problem is staring it in the face and accepting what is, not what was, what should have been if only but what is in front of you, now in this moment.

Finding the root cause may help unravel how it occurred and how we can stop it happening again but looking at and accepting what is, gives a release. Not necessarily peace in that moment but the beginnings of an energy transformation.

When acceptance is there, the state of your being changes, the vibration we give out changes from anxiety which is a lower vibration to a higher, calmer frequency. This can go almost undetected at first. It takes courage too. Yet if we can be brave and look at what is and accept, then we can work towards calm, claim a breathing space to see more clearly and embrace some solutions.

It is not something which comes naturally especially if life is troubling you with many tasks all at once. I know it can be overwhelming to deal with many challenges in one moment. However, we have to look at what it is that is really causing the stress or anxiety. Is it the situation or our response to it? Maybe there is a way to see more of you within that scenario than at first thought.

Our belief systems are in place from birth almost and develop as we grow to adulthood. These affect the way we reason out situations and how we resist and battle against something, wishing, wanting, and comparing to others. This resistance vs acceptance conflict is the cause of much of our stress in life and consequently affects our health and well-being.

What you resist persists

What you resist persists is a well-known saying in coaching circles and spiritual teachings. I am sure like myself many readers have had situations in life that repeat over and over and even when you address it and you think “right that’s done and dusted, dealt with that” well it rears itself up again at the most unexpected moment. It may well be you are attracted to a certain type of person, or you may be in the same work scenario over and over. It may be there is still a remnant of resistance there.

If this happens it is worth taking a really good look at what is, accept it, then pick it apart, ask what is it telling me about me? Then maybe change something. Make sure you are aware of your response, set yourself some new boundaries and move in a different way through the situation.

Accepting how we are and move through life isn’t easy because we are constantly evolving even in tiny elements each day. If we can’t understand and accept ourselves then it seems like a mountain to climb to fully accept others as they are in their full essence.

There are many groups who have been oppressed, abused, overlooked in the past and our society is trying hard to express their need to amend and make good this imbalance.

I have worked within inclusion schemes in many formats throughout my life and have coached diverse groups. I have studied and embraced the differences between people within religious cultures and experienced how different children and adults learn. The people I have met in my life have been wonderful teachers of what is indeed magnificent and exciting about difference and I have been privileged to try to understand their diversity.

Of course, you can’t meet all the peoples in the world, but you can open your heart to learning WITH people who are different to you. I love that we are all different; every single soul of us on this planet is unique. I ask myself why that is. What does it serve? Everyone would give a different answer and that reveals the individual adventure we are all on. Just by being ourselves, owning our unique energy and expressing our soul essence and recognising that in all people we encounter, is true acceptance. Perhaps that is what we are learning and why we are indeed all so different.

Any label we have in our physical life is temporary and as different each of us are we are individuated soul sparks all created from Divine love, light and energy (some may call this God, Source, Creator, Consciousness, whichever suits you personally). That binds us together throughout our human experience; our physical conscious mind just forgets that part of us.

We are here for a two-purpose roller coaster ride. One to individually experience certain parts of human life and the emotions, feelings and circumstances within that life and secondly come back to the root of all things within that experience, love, then expand through that love and take that back to an ever growing and evolving Consciousness when we leave the Earth.

When we know better, we do better. It is important to focus on being our true selves and all that encompasses. Accept us as us.

When my son was only 12 years old, he experienced some bullying at school. I asked him why he thought that was happening. His profound response was “Because I know who I am, and I like who I am”. What a teacher! There you have the most beautiful gem of acceptance found through challenge.

There will sadly, always be humans who do not know how to disagree with respect and accept what is different to them. It is part of our human experience of duality. Yet as we are all one, even that is just a different aspect of the creation from the Cosmic Mind Consciousness.

Respect, acceptance- it starts with us. Learning to love self, respect self, accept self. It is the keystone to our spiritual development but also the main pivot for our social evolution too.

Once that foundation is solid and we are comfortable with us, our beliefs and values, then we have a true base of immovable acceptance, and we can then feel more at ease with others who express themselves in a different way to us. We can set our plan for ourselves without comparison. We can appreciate the journey others are going through.

Is it then time to accept diversity, in all forms, use all perspectives and skills within Humanity, but in a different way? Maybe to recognise it is only another aspect of the human being we are, another aspect of our collective soul. That may be the true acceptance we are all seeking and another word for that acceptance- LOVE.
