The Heart Knows What The Mind Cannot See

The mind can create a picture, but it is the heart that gives it life

There is, within ourselves, a dream we carry for this life; a knowing and a wish that is faithful to a greater vision of ourselves. It is held within our heart. Not the casual heart of shallow emotions or vain morality that can masquerade as a heart’s meaning, but the real Heart. The place that holds no imitation of truth, no charade of meaning, the source of our power, our passion, and our purpose.

Within this deep heart there exists a longing of the soul; a wish for the loves we feel of life to be enacted on earth. This wish of love will never die. Our body may grow old, but our love does not. It is the internal flame that is eternal; a fountain of youth from where flows our beauty and our light. This is the dream we carry for this life; a knowing and a wish that is faithful to a greater vision of ourselves. It is held within the heart, the place of our power, our passion, and our purpose.

The heart is the resonant chamber for the soul’s experience on earth; a crucible where the feelings of the meanings we give to life creates the story of who we are. It is from this core of ourselves that comes so many defining qualities of love and the human adventure of life. Its call has the power to move mountains or create the gentlest touch of love. It is the artist within, the writer of meanings, and the manifestor of dreams.

The heart has the power to pull the stars to Earth. All great achievements are born from the heart, it has created all the wonders and all the lights of the world. The heart is also the saving grace of humanity because for every heartless act in the world there are thousands of acts of Heart, of care, of kindness, and of love.

It is the source of a benevolent will, of courage, of a relentless compassion and an infinite hope. It is the custodian of our love, a chamber of the miraculous and the source of well-being that fits like a glove to who we are. It is the home of our truth: not the truth of yesterday or tomorrow that the mind struggles to know, but the truth of the moment, the living truth. And when we allow it, it is a cathedral of light: a library of illumined text that describes the union of our heaven and earth.

It is our heart that knows love and it will always be our heart that we go to if we wish to be in love’s company. It is where we will find our abiding happiness because the wish of the heart is for our happiness. It knows what is best for us because it knows us intimately; within its chamber live our loves, hopes, and our dreams.

When we act from the heart, we give life to our love and our story within it. We create a path that is true to ourselves; we reclaim our sovereignty and honour the unique image of love that we hold. When we have the courage to do this, we embrace the majesty of ourselves and become an author of light.

But when we withhold our love, our light, our truth, we forsake who we really are. We break our integrity and become a ghost of ourselves, lamenting the absence of the very thing we have abandoned – love.

But, if our movement is in response to some heart’s passion, some inspiration of the moment, we dance within the spirit of ourselves. Our movements then become an expression of love, and we become joined by a creation that is already in love.

Without love, hope has no home, courage no direction and fortitude no purpose. It is why we dance and why we give. It brings meaning to life; for without love there is no colour, no passion, and no joy. Its presence can sustain us through the darkest hours and the wildest storms – and can give comfort in the loneliest of times. It calms the troubled mind, mends the broken heart, and brings home the wandering soul. It gives strength for a leap of faith, a trust in life, a wish for tomorrow, and a living of the day.

This wish of love is our sacred purpose. And in the times of peace and self-mercy, we have known simply that we love to love. It is why we will always try again, despite the weight of life’s experience, to bring the light of our love out of the darkness of ourselves; to lift ourselves up and be what we love.

When we can do this, we reclaim our sovereignty. We act as creation and creation lives because of it.

Love is why we live.
