From an esoteric standpoint, our present view of history is extremely limited. We tend to consider the evolution of humanity over the span of just a few thousand years: back as far as the life of Christ and Ancient Greece, and back about as far again to the Stone Age, when we lived in caves and feared sabre-toothed tigers.
And so we believe it was for aeons before that, receding into foggy pre-history.
In actuality the truth of our past is far more grandiose. There are many ancient ruins dotted around the globe that provide evidence and clues as to humanity’s true origins. These include the Pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx of course, the remarkable statues on Easter Island, Stonehenge, ancient temples in Cambodia and elsewhere, and many other notable locations and sacred sites that contemporary science tends to date at only a few thousand years but which in actuality are probably many tens of thousands of years older.
The truth is that much of what we regard as mythology is history – a truly ancient history, describing a forgotten epoch that ended around 100,000 years ago. The myths and legends of many countries – the Nordic, Greek, Chinese, Indian and other legends, and the tales of the gods – Zeus, Poseidon, Demeter, Hermes, Odin, Thor, Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu, Isis, Osiris, Horus, Ra and many others, mostly derive from the Atlantean era. And famous scriptures such as the Mahabharata are also founded in the same past and much of these may be read as factual, also.
Atlantis was an extraordinary, golden civilisation that covered much of the globe and endured for millions of years, a time when we were gods (yes us, the very same souls), guided and watched over by the Spiritual Masters of the day. But sadly, even Atlantis fell into darkness – greed, materialism, selfishness and violence, and was eventually destroyed by the great war of that time, the Atlantean War, around 96,000BC. So devastating was this conflict between light and darkness that it resulted in the cataclysm that caused much of the Atlantean continent to sink into what is now the Atlantic Ocean. So began humanity’s fall into the ignorance, forgetfulness and materialism of today. And yet, we do remember: for deep in the collective unconscious everyone recalls the Great Flood, when the land sank into the waters of oblivion.
The North American continent is the major remnant of Old Atlantis. Yet there were other scattered island remains also, notably Poseidonis, which is where the Egyptian civilisation came from, that finally sank around 9500 BC leaving our present-day Azores behind. Egypt was an echo, a vastly diminished late flowering of the Atlantean era. This is how such an advanced civilisation with its spirituality, poetry, art and architecture, came to exist while elsewhere the Bronze Age was just beginning.
When Poseidon fell, it was truly the end of the Age of the Gods. But now, some scant ten thousand years later, other mysteries as yet considered myths and folklore also prove true, for Atlantis is slowly rising (it was Blavatsky, the founder of Theosophy, who in the late 19th century accurately described the topography of the North Atlantic Ridge) and eventually the face of the globe must change once again for the true meaning of the Aquarian Age to become manifest. This is the rebirth of Atlantis, even more glorious, beautiful and advanced than before. We shall rediscover our divinity; our eyes shall be opened and we shall be as gods again, guided by the Wise Ones who are waiting in the wings.
Even as we tremble on the edge of the new Golden Age, history provides multitudinous clues as to both where we came from – and where we are most definitely headed. The future is bright indeed, for humanity is not only about to reconnect with its beautiful, ancient past, but to surpass it and venture into a brilliant future. The chaos and division today herald this new time, for they represent the death throes of the old ways that no longer serve us, the destruction of the rotting foundations of selfishness and greed so that a new, stable, permanent structure can be created. This will prove to be a civilisation based wholly upon altruism, goodwill and love, a new and wiser Atlantis in which the lessons of the past have been learned, where selfishness and acquisition have no place, and Love Rules All.
