From the very moment that the first of our ancestors picked up a big stick and walloped another of our ancestors with it, Boom! The fight for freedom began!
One became Ruler and the other Servant. One would make the rules and the other would comply with the rules imposed upon them. That first wallop changed everything. It created a split in the collective effort for survival. A separateness between the people now existed and The Ego/ Identity came to the fore. From this one defining act, a hierarchy was born that we still engage in today – the weak versus the strong, the rich and powerful versus the poor and the powerless. That first wallop changed everything and shaped human evolution/history for all the generations that would follow, and the evidence is all around us, today.
In our material world there are (unfortunately) many, many injustices happening right now. Many limitations are being placed upon an individuals’ freedom. I am not talking about the legitimate, legal restrictions where, let’s say, dangerous people are incarcerated into prison, etc. No, I am referring to the many social injustices where people’s freedoms are being restricted because of gender, race, culture, education, opinion, greed or bias etc. Our material world has (again unfortunately), many just causes that could use your support. If you wish to make a conscientious choice/action to get involved and help in any way you can, to any cause with which your soul resonates…. Personally, I would encourage it, because energy flows where attention goes and every conscious act does make a difference. But, of course, the freedom to make that choice, or not, is yours.
From a spiritual viewpoint, what about the self-imposed limitations from a life of freedom? From the moment your soul puts on its skin suit and is born as a human being, your soul yearns to be free. It knows it had freedom before and will continually yearn to be free once more. Yes, we have a body and a mind, and within that mind, not only our ego, but, our ‘higher self’ resides, that tiny spark of source that is your soul.
The problem is that as soon as we begin to grow and experience this dense energy of Earth, we mostly feel the experience with our senses. We identify with those emotions, take ownership of those emotions and then make our choices dependent on our emotional experience of the given situation. But here’s the kicker, you are not your emotions. Your emotions are not a constant. They are merely petals on a breeze, flying all over the place, re-acting unconsciously. They may feel real in any given moment, sure, but your emotions change and then pass by. They are not a constant and you are not your emotions.
To further complicate matters, we have the ego, that controlling part of our mind that does very much connect to Emotion and Identification. No ifs or buts, the ego wants to be in control. And will constantly trick you, make you doubt your instincts, blind you to who and what you truly are. The ego acts like a friend, but it is not. The ego serves the ego by limiting your souls’ expression and truth and experience. It wants to keep you in a constant state of flux, of confusion. Your ego causes mostly, your less desirable feelings and emotions, those darker energies that keep us in our own personal prison. Totally done, so that the ego can keep control, keep you ‘in line’ in your ever decreasing world of fear with its ‘heavy chatter’ the ’what ifs’ and ‘remember last time you did that’ and ‘you just stay here all comfortable and safe, you cannot make a difference’ etc, etc, etc. You know – we all have an ego.
So, what to do? Do we just give up our soul’s cry to expand and to be free? Do we resign ourselves to the fate of becoming another tormented soul, giving in to the dark energies of the controlling, limiting, soul destroying ego? Should we allow our experience to be limited piece by piece by piece until the essence of who we truly are is lost to us forever?
Of course not. Yes, there will be people who are lost in the darkness (I was one). There will always be people who are comfy in their little cell, people who may believe you are wasting your time etc, etc, blah, blah… (everyone’s purpose or mission is different after all, right?)
Your soul will never stop talking to you, trying to reach you, so you can reach the best possible version of yourself and the most expansive of experiences. You will recognise the loving, positive, guiding and reassuring, supportive energy – just listen for its call. Your soul wants you to be free, to have the best possible experience. To shut the destructive ego down to clear its negative energetic impact that has plagued you since you first put on you suit of skin, signed-on for your Earthly Mission and then subsequently, born into this 3d (third density) world.
Make No Mistake, You Were Born to Be Free
But how can we be free if our soul is encased in our Earthly form? We connect that Soul part within us back to source. Even the temporary connection through activities like yoga, working with crystals, reading to gain new understanding, meditation, or walking in nature etc, soothes our soul. It envelops us with a stronger connection to our true thoughts, our true self. These purification acts remove the ego-chatter, the illusion of separateness and help to ground us in a more balanced state of equilibrium. Knowing that we are connected, we are a part of a bigger plan.
The more effort you put in; the universe will reward you. Before you know it, and with consistent effort, your life will begin to expand in ways you never thought possible. Your foggy brain and your fallacious eyes will clear away the illusions that you believed to be true. Both the illusion you hold of yourself and the world in which we live.
If your soul is calling, perhaps take just one step at a time, at your own pace. Remember…
What we think, we create. What we create, we express. What we express, we become. (To whoever wrote that initially, I thank you! It has helped me immeasurably).
For all those who have read this far, I thank you for listening. Take from it what you will, or what you won’t. There is only one that you need to heed. Your soul will give you all the messages you need. All you have to do is hear its calling…or not, and you do have the freedom to choose.
