We know that everything is made up of energy. That must include houses and other buildings so it is reasonable to believe that they would hold energy imprints, memories of the people who have lived there and the events that have happened.
What if these memories could still affect the people who live and work in these properties today? It is my belief that, indeed, these imprints of residual energy can have a profound effect on us, on our health, our moods and other aspects of our lives. Think of a time when you walked into a room where there has been an argument and the tension was still palpable. We all know the phrase, ‘You could cut the atmosphere with a knife’, and that is exactly how it feels.
Most of us will have experienced a time when we went into a building and immediately felt uncomfortable, nervous and anxious, or alternatively relaxed, calm and at peace. There was no reason for us to feel that way apart from the energy that the building itself was giving off. In normal circumstances we shut ourselves off to these energies around us, only noticing them if they are highly charged, either positive or negative.
Yet, stored negative energies in places can still be holding us back, even if we are unaware of them. ‘Space clearing’ of properties allows us to remove such negative energies (along with any unwanted entities) and enhance the positive. It’s almost like cleaning an old painting, gently removing the dirt to reveal the beauty below. Once the grime of history is cleansed, hidden secrets both good, bad and unbelievable can be revealed.
This is my work. Over time I have seen many wonderful buildings, some that had been lovingly restored, some still needing work and everything in between, and I have been able to resolve many issues. I have also met many interesting and occasionally challenging spirits! Desirable properties that were on the market for months or even years without interest have then sold within a very short time. Owners’ sleep problems have been healed, problem tenants have been transformed, legal issues have magically been solved, businesses have begun to thrive, and one client even lost stubborn weight without changing her diet.
From childhood, I had always been fascinated by old buildings, so it was no surprise that I became an estate agent. What I kept to myself, though, was that I had always also been especially sensitive to energy and could sense and communicate with the spirit world. When visiting properties to measure them up for sale, I would become fully aware of their history. More than this, because I wanted each house to become a happy and peaceful home, it seems that I was instinctively clearing away any negative energies too.
It was a game-changer when a new friend told me about space clearing and I realised that this was what I had been doing! So, then I began to learn more about the practice, as well as how to protect myself spiritually and call on the help of angels and guides. I have now worked on many hundreds of properties, both residential and business, in the UK and Spain, where I now live with my family.
For example, I was asked to space clear one lovely country house in rural Spain by the owner. She was finding it difficult to work in the office space she had created and was also worried about one of her daughters, who had been struggling at school and seemed distracted. As I moved around the home, what I felt was mainly a loving and hardworking imprint of previous residents. Yet, as with most properties that are over a hundred years old, it had also witnessed some sad events.
Then, in the first bedroom was a fun-loving visiting spirit girl, Carmen. Wearing a white dress and with long, dark brown hair in bunches, she just wanted to play with the child who now lived in the house. She had died suddenly of a fever in the early twentieth century. There was no harm in her, but I helped her to move on to the light as, in this case, it was the right thing to do.
Spirits can still be present for several reasons. They may be earthbound and unable to continue their soul’s journey. Some may not realise that their earthly life has ended, which could happen if they died suddenly; they may believe they have ‘unfinished business’ or they don’t want to give up the control they had in life (which is the case with many of the more unpleasant spirits I have come across).
On the other hand, it is always a pleasure to meet loving spirits who have passed but like to return for a visit, to check up on family and friends and bring them love and support. In the case of Carmen, she was able to move freely but just wanted to play with her new friend.
I continued to clear the negative energy of historic sad events, especially in my client’s office area, and the feedback I received from this home did not disappoint. The owner confirmed that she had been unable to work in her office because of feeling very uncomfortable there, but now she felt relaxed and had been able to be far more productive.
She had also spoken to her daughter and asked if she ever had friends coming to play that Mummy didn’t know about. The girl answered no, but she would like to know who the ghost was that often played with her! They hadn’t known about Carmen before, but the family are now thriving and living very happily in their lovely country home.
