Clearing or Making Space

When I was given the topic of ‘Clearing’ for this edition, I had a wry smile on my face – this should be easy, I thought. But oddly, I have had severe writers block both literally and at an energetic level. What you are reading is far from the first draft. I confess, I’m not 100% sure why this has happened but I’m looking into it.

This is the very work my ‘team’ and I facilitate for others; pinpointing things in your energy system that either shouldn’t be there, are stagnating away or are simply ready to move on. The work itself can be very hard going at times but always worth it, with hindsight.

We help people to hear their own inner voice and guidance once more. Regain the ability to determine what is theirs and what is not. Bringing back a sense of balance and being in alignment. I’m told the sense of relief when these blocks (and more) move out is quite something.

For me the word “clearing” puts me into work mode. But I’m aware it can elicit a very different response for different people.

It can be very overwhelming. Similar to the feeling when someone says “spring cleaning” raising a feeling of irritation as it’s seen as part of a never-ending list of tasks. Or you may have a sense of very hard work that you don’t have time for – or so you believe. Some may even feel their blood pressure and anxiety start to rise just reading the words.

Shifting the perspective

It couldn’t hurt…

Let’s look at it instead as ‘making space’.

Feels less challenging, doesn’t it?  Shifting your perspective can seem less pressured with fewer negative expectations. Imagine taking yourself so far outside the box that all is possible, and nothing is impossible.

As the pressure is lifted off your shoulders, your blood pressure returns to a less frenetic pace then we can look more closely. The concept of creating space has a flow and fluidity to it – shifting and releasing things that take up too much space.

Imagine the junk drawer, spare-room, or garage – the dumping ground for all sorts of things with no home. It can be frustrating or soul destroying when you look at it – so overwhelming. “Where do I even start?” you might ask. Picking up that first piece of paper or coiling up that first charger wire will get things moving – taking that first step, tiny or otherwise is ‘intent in motion’.

You don’t have to clear the entire drawer/room/garage in one day but the sense of achievement as you start to find places for things to go is what keeps you going back. To put more things away, to donate, to recycle or to bin.

You feel good (or at least better than before you started) when see order emerging from the chaos. Your energy picks up and the room itself feels better in a way you can’t always quantify. I find once I start, I have more energy and enthusiasm to keep going. Harness that energy before it runs out (wry smile).

Making space within your energy system

Clearing or making space in your energy field is much the same.  Making a start can feel too big, too scary, and just too much effort. Trying to pinpoint what’s not yours, or what’s not working can be like finding a needle in a haystack. And how do you know what to do? The trick is to stop and break it all down into smaller sections, then it becomes doable. Finding someone with the ability to support you offer you the tools you need to keep going on what can be a rocky journey can also be useful.

Over time, you begin to listen to your discernment or ‘gut instinct’ to determine what your energy system is telling or showing you. If something feels a bit ‘off’, trust your instinct and look there first. You are typically guided right where you need your attention to be. It could be an energy attachment from another person, some remnant threads/cords from a past situation or even something/someone you had let go of but hadn’t fully release or dissolved.

Clearing involves a process of layers, and at times can be annoying – but this is a good thing. By tackling ‘bit by bit’ or ‘layer by layer’ you can integrate, shift, and adapt to the changes they bring. It takes time, if you were presented with it all immediately, you would run for the hills and never come back. You will only be given what you can cope with so have faith.   Take your time, pace yourself and be patient – as with all things practice makes it fa.

You will become adept at moving out what no longer works or is far past its best, repairing or recycling what is still useful and nudging other things into a better place for them to work at full capacity. I’m aware this all sounds a bit cryptic but those starting or already doing this self-work will understand the deeper meaning.

How do I know? Because I have been there myself and speak from personal experience. If I can do it, I KNOW you can too.

The space you reveal is a gift

The space you reveal or create doesn’t have to be filled straight away. You may even leave it as space for a time. With the knowledge that as you shift, change, and grow, there is free space for the new to come in.

Now doesn’t that sound better than doing the Spring Cleaning?
